Planner Scheduler - Corpus Christi, Texas (Nueces Bay)

Job Description

 RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Monitor backlog of work requests to address priority problems in an efficient manner.
  • Assure that work orders are properly planned and coordinated. 
  • Schedule work orders for crews in advance in order to optimize resource efficiency. 
  • Maintain and update PM program to be sure the work is current and effective.
  • Review completed work orders to update equipment histories and develop model work orders.
  • Plan and prioritize outage work for fast and efficient response. 
  • Coordinate maintenance work with Operations, Stores and Plant Management.
  • Utilize project-planning software to create and maintain project and outage plans.
  • Create and maintain equipment bill of materials of database.
  • Preplan materials and clearances to facilitate efficient maintenance.   
  • Create all plant service contracts for work to be performed.
  • Coordinate and over see all work with Contractors performing work on the plant site.
  • Assist Plant Maintenance Supervisor on plant equipment budgets as required.
  • Maintain and coordinate plant hazardous and non-hazardous waste on site.
  • Coordinate disposal of all waste with suppliers.
  • Coordinate in maintaining of plant buildings and grounds.
  • Coordinate inspections of internals and externals plant systems and equipments.

EHS Compliance Manager Austin, TX

Job Description

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Provide support, guidance and direction to ensure that power plant facilities are operating in compliance with all environmental and safety regulatory requirements.
  • Interact on a frequent basis with all plant personnel to provide support in the area of environmental and safety compliance.
  • Review and monitor the effectiveness of each plant’s compliance programs and tools and recommend improvements as appropriate.
  • Track each facility’s compliance history and take appropriate steps to correct deficiencies.
  • Lead internal or oversee external environmental and safety audits, including those conducted by corporate departments, regulatory agencies, etc.
  • As appropriate, lead plant efforts related to non-routine environmental and safety activities.
  • Represent power plants in negotiations with permitting agencies regarding compliance issues.
  • Manage emission testing and monitoring certification activities during plant commissioning and plant operations.
  • Support emission testing and certification tasks for operating power plants
  • Provide technical support on pollution control and monitoring systems.
  • Provide regulatory interpretation of environmental and other permits, licenses, and environmental and safety regulations.
  • Assist in preparing required environmental and safety plans and reports.
  • Recommend training programs specific to each facility’s needs.

 SKILLS / COMPETENCIES: 

  • Extensive experience in power plant operations and systems, and particular experience and knowledge of environmental and emissions controls, emissions monitoring and recording devices, safe work practices, and safety programs.
  • Strong background in all environmental media, but in particular air quality.  Additional experience will also be required in water quality, water discharge, solid and hazardous waste.
  • Extensive experience in power plant environmental and safety auditing and compliance, including emissions testing and certification, RATA and compliance testing, preparation of emissions reports, environmental reporting requirements, environmental audit reports, OSHA requirements, etc.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the environmental regulatory framework, including extensive knowledge of Clean Air Act, Acid Rain Program, Title V, CERCLA, RCRA, Clean Water Act, New Source Review, Waste Water Discharge Standards as well as other environmental regulatory programs.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations and safety programs, including such programs as lock-out/tag-out, confined space, hazard communication, respiratory protection, asbestos, and lead.
  • Job requires periodic travel as necessary to facility sites, permitting agency offices, and training /seminar locations

DEGREES / CERTIFICATION / LICENSE / EXPERIENCE:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in physical or biological science, engineering, business or related subjects.  Related graduate level course work or master’s degree is highly desirable. Requires a minimum of 5 years of related professional experience, with emphasis on energy infrastructure projects including power plant/power generation related projects, LNG projects, pipelines, central plants, and/or natural gas storage.

Combustion Turbine O&M Technician (solid I&C experience preferred) - Corpus Christi, TX

Job Description

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:  

May be responsible to perform a combination of the following duties based upon dual job assignment.   

  • Competently operates and maintains a simple/combined cycle generating facility and all associated auxiliary and support equipment with minimal guidance or assistance.
  • Monitors and operates combustion turbine, steam turbine and electric generators for operational changes on demand including start-up, shutdown, and emergency response situations during trips and/or major power plant load adjustment conditions.
  • Must perform all work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Must comply with and practice proper equipment Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Must follow proper event notification and communication protocols to management and regulatory agencies as applicable
  • Maintains required documentation including records, log sheets and charts in electronic format. 
  • Fully supports the use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) by displaying a proficiency in using the system, entering data consistent with fellow employees and dedication to the facility maintenance philosophy.
  • Thoroughly records equipment problems on the CMMS work requests and documents maintenance actions taken on work order forms. Handles corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance work orders in a timely and high quality manner. Shows diligence in documenting spare parts usage and re-ordering.
  • Proactively perform preventive maintenance activities on plant equipment per OEM recommendations and as scheduled by the CMMS.
  • Proven ability to define scope of work for repair and routine maintenance activities (such as outages) to include:  resource planning, scheduling, contractor management and prepare/manage Purchase Orders for multiple contractors
  • Troubleshoot and repair plant systems and equipment as necessary. In addition to maintaining equipment and calibration of instrumentation and controls.
  • Proficient at operating the plant via a remote distributed control system (DCS). Periodically, equipment may need to be operated locally via PLC panel interfaces.
  • Perform routine evaluations of HRSG, cooling tower, demineralizer, and RO unit water chemistry and make necessary changes to chemical feed systems to ensure continued plant operation (as applicable)
  • Participate in an Employee Development and Qualification Program “EDQP” as defined by plant management.
  • Will participate in a “Responsibility Based Management Program” which requires system ownership. Duties will include budget preparation, housekeeping, preventive maintenance procedures, training and operational procedure development for system(s)/program(s) assigned.
  • Work shift hours, overtime, and irregular hours as needed to support reliable operation of the facility. From time to time the working hours will be determined on short notice based on plant requirements.
  • Performs general housekeeping and continuous improvement of the appearance of the facility including painting projects as required. Maintains the cleanliness of all areas of the plant and control room, or other duties as assigned.

 Required Skills: 

  •  Technical
    • Must have the ability to administer and manage programs in a technology base environment.
    • Strong knowledge of interpreting reports and an aptitude in instrumentation, controls and electrical systems.
    • Solid Mechanical / electrical aptitude.
    • General knowledge of hazardous material handling.
    • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, technical manuals and P&ID's
    • Proficient at troubleshooting and inspecting programmable logic controllers, distributive control systems including control card replacement and wiring terminations.
    • Strong computer skills, including the use of word processors and spreadsheets, and knowledge of computerized maintenance and operations management systems.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and detailed understanding of the operation of the plant systems and equipment. 
    • Ability to implement and enforce all safety and environmental policies and procedures
    • Performs capital project and/or major program responsibilities as assigned by the Plant Manager

Degrees/Certifications/License/Experience:

Required:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • A minimum of six years of power plant operations and/or maintenance experience. Must have prior experience in equipment, auxiliary and or steam operating procedures. 
  • Proven I&E Experience
  • The CT O&M position requires working a rotating shift schedule, with overtime and callouts as necessary to support the plant operation. 

Preferred:   

  • Certifications and/or degrees in mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance, instrumentation and controls (I&C) maintenance, water chemistry, or other related fields

 Licenses:  Valid Driver’s License
